I studied Ceramics/Metalwork Sculpture at Camberwell school of art and have been teaching pottery for around 23 years.
I have worked in various art and design environments over the years including being an in-house model maker, Pattern/ mould maker and wind tunnel pressure test model maker.
I have much experience in working with various media, but mostly working with clay which I have been doing since my teenage years!
Predominantly I am a hand builder and caster, but you will find me at the wheel at times….
My own work will more often than not contain Kinetic elements , perhaps harnessing the power of the sun as a source for movement, and could largely be described as abstract in form, using materials suited to the particular pieces needs.
My classes are a reasonably free environment enabling students to work at their own pace with me teaching beginners the basic techniques for hand building and decorating , then moving on to an introduction to throwing on the wheel if desired.
More experienced students will be supported and encouraged with their own projects .
Everyone will be given technical support and there will be a focus on good studio practice.
