Nigel Murray Profile
Nigel trained as an illustrator and worked mainly on children’s and educational books as well as two Jackanory programmes for the BBC. He gained a degree in The History of Drawing and Printmaking from Camberwell. After completing a PGCE he spent many years teaching Art in secondary schools, latterly at Putney High School. He now works as an artist, encompassing drawing, painting, print making and mixed media. He has exhibited work at, amongst other places, the Royal Academy, the Mall Galleries and the Sydney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury. In 2022 he took part in the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year competition.
Nigel believes in the profound value of drawing as the foundation of all creative endeavours. He has a wealth of experience which he is happy to share and is always open to learn new things.
