Feb Half Term – Introduction to Interior Design & Interior Architecture 14 plus
The taster course will offer an insight to the subject and inspire to consider a longer course. It will familiarise students with the principles of looking at interior spaces, translating aspirations into ideas and depicting it visually in a personal and original form.
What The Course is About:
The course is an introduction to the subject of interior design and interior architecture, how it relates to a wider architectural setting, and sustainability aspect. It will include elements of drawing the plans, sketching the space by hand drawing methods with introduction to CAD dwg and Photoshop, and working with colour and materials.
Materials Required:
First session: Pencils, colour pencils, black ink pen or marker fine liner, A3 blocks of paper and tracing paper, scale ruler. Some of the materials can be bought in the school shop. You will be given a full list of required materials when you join the course.
Previous Experience:
Students with some drawing and/or technical drawing knowledge and interest in environment and the study of space, interiors and architecture.
End of course:
What will I achieve? The aim of the course is to develop the observational skills (space, materials, light) and interpret what you see, what is possible and practical and how to demonstrate it for yourself and to others.
