February Half Term – Introduction to Watercolour Painting

This 2-day course is aimed at complete beginners who want to learn the basics of watercolour or students with some knowledge wanting to improve their watercolour skills.

What The Course is About:

You will be taught about colour mixing and a range of watercolour techniques. You will be finding ways to express colour, light and texture using watercolour techniques. Subjects covered will range from simple still lives and landscape and architecture. We will be experimenting with different ways of using paint and will look at how watercolour painters use various techniques. Your tutor will also demonstrate how to use techniques such as “wet in wet” or “wet on dry” and reserving.

Materials Required:

What to bring to the first session: Bring to the first class watercolours and drawing materials you possess i.e. pencils; paper and further items can be purchased from the school shop.
