Introduction to Watercolour and Experimental Techniques
This course is designed for beginners with little or no experience with the delicate medium of watercolour. We will work and develop your skills and a focus on understanding of the experimental medium of watercolour. We will explore traditional methods of mixing colour and students will also be encouraged to play and develop their own take on the age-old method.
What The Course is About:
This course is designed for beginners with little or no experience with the delicate medium of watercolour. We will work and develop your skills and a focus on understanding of the experimental medium of watercolour. We will explore traditional methods of mixing colour and students will also be encouraged to play and develop their own take on the age-old method. This course is also designed for smaller numbers and to allow more one to one time with your tutor, to help you progress more quickly.
Materials Required:
Water colour palette (24 colours minimum) although not compulsory to have this many. Would be useful to begin with and save time before we attempt mixing and making our own washes/ colours.
Small handheld watercolour sketchbook/ weekly critiques encouraged with these the more you are able to practice outside of the classroom.
A4 sized watercolour paper/ book of paper
Black ink pen preferable different point sizes (available in the school shop) Unipoint felt tip pens.
A few simple pencils to map out your Artwork
Pencil sharpener
Apron if you feel you would like one.
Photographs of subject matter you wish to copy/ create. Inspiration from photographs/ magazine cut outs/ images from your phone.
