Whether you're new to painting or exploring new methods in your practice, this class is for you.  The course begins with a review of colour theory as it relates to layering, mixing and glazing paint.  Next, we will learn how to get the most out of acrylic paints by these same methods and adding mediums.  Acrylic is a great way to paint fast and loose and can also be used as a base for oil painting.  After exploring how to get the most of acrylics, we will add the use of oil paint to create first structured and then individual projects.

The long- term objective is to have students composing and painting original works in either one or both mediums.  Composition will be a big part of the class.
