Summer School – 2 Days: Screenprinting for Textiles (Int/Adv)
Explore screen printing on fabric. Screenprinting is a method of making an image using stencils which is intrinsic to textile design for fashion, interior and fine art purposes.
What The Course is About:
For students with previous experience of screen printing, the course will provide an opportunity to have 2 full days of printing on fabric to consolidate a project or work on something new.
Materials Required:
What to bring to the first session: The cost of workshop-based materials such as inks, newsprint, chemicals and equipment maintenance are included in the fees. Your main additional expense will be fabrics, tapes, mount spray and tracing paper. It is common for students to build their own set of basic art equipment (such as brushes, pencils and knives), although these are available in the workshop. For fabrics, consider synthetic or natural fibers. Cotton, polyester or linen are some examples of what works well. For sourcing fabrics, Goldhawk Road in Shepherds bush, MacCulloch and Wallace and Woolcrest are some great locations.
