Summer School – Introduction to Drawing & Painting

An exciting introductory drawing and painting course, you will explore different approaches, methods and materials.

What The Course is About:

The course is suitable for all students who wish to improve their drawing skills and painting techniques. Using a variety of materials you will explore different forms of description and expression.

Materials Required:

What to bring to the first session: Bring to the first class any drawing and painting materials you possess. Paper and further items can be purchased from the school shop.

Previous Experience:

It is suitable for beginners and also for students with some experience who would welcome a structured refresher course.

End of course:

What will I achieve? Students will learn how to exploit paint’s potential to be both transparent and opaque, exploring a range of painting techniques. Students will be taught skills such as composition, colour balance, proportion, perspective, form, tone, line drawing, and methods of organising the palette.
